NFWL Fairgrounds Food Give-Away – Sat, January 30th at 10 am.
Destin Harvest and The Matrix C.O.C. will be hosting separate drive-through food distributions in Okaloosa and Walton County on Saturday the 30th. Feeding the Gulf Coast has allocated $6,000 in donated food items for both counties. Both DH and The Matrix will secure a combined total of 20,000 pounds of fresh and nonperishable food to host the distributions this weekend.
DH is partnering with United Way Emerald Coast and FWB Police Department at Northwest Florida Fairgrounds to distribute 500 to 700 boxes of produce, meats, dairy items, and non-perishables out to vehicles from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until supplies last. Each identical box will host enough foods to feed a family for two to three days. The NWFL Fairgrounds is located at 1958 Lewis Turner Blvd, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547.
In Walton County, The Matrix C.O.C. is coordinating with multiple partner agencies to distribute an equal number of foods throughout the county. Distributing agencies will be determined later in the week. Check with The Matrix C.O.C. to find out a program closest to you in Walton County.
If you, or someone you know, needs food assistance, make sure to not miss the drive-through food distributions taking place this weekend. No identification required at NWFL Fairgrounds. Just drive up in line and pop the trunk or back door of your vehicle and a volunteer will load a food box.
