Right now is not an easy time to give. If you have some way to give, our operation needs your support more than ever.
Combining weekly Farm Share runs with USDA’s Farmers to Families Food Box Program, and with the help of City Produce, Harbor Docks, and many others, DH is mobilizing an additional 50k – 70k pounds of fresh, frozen, and nonperishable foods into Okaloosa and Walton County each week. DH’s daily food pick ups from grocery stores already contributes to over 120k pounds of food to feeding programs in both counties every month.
DH seeks community support for drivers’ wages and fuel costs to capture an additional 25k to 50k lbs. of weekly Farm Share foods in Quincy and to help with operation costs of distributing over 2 million pounds of food annually to feeding programs throughout Okaloosa and Walton County.
Never in the history of our program have we experienced the need this great. Nor have we ever had resources so deep to address a need so challenging. We need your support more than ever.
Please help us bridge the gap between large volumes of fresh, frozen, and nonperishable food surpluses throughout the southeast and mass food insecurity in Okaloosa and Walton County.
